Illinois Park Project is a collaborative mission with other Illinois based outdoor lovers, bloggers, leaders, teachers and organizations hosted by Jenny the Trailhead. Illinois Park Project is a volunteer effort encouraging individuals, families and youth to disconnect from technology and daily routines for an afternoon, get outdoors and give back to their public lands and parks. We will also be sharing the Leave No Trace Principles with participants at each event.
We will lead group family friendly hikes with the intention of bringing life back into some of our “forgotten” Illinois State Parks. During our outings we will be tidying and maintaining trails, picking up at trail heads and lots, and leaving it better than we found it.
With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need. We fully support Gear Forward; a non-profit that fulfills outdoor equipment needs for kids in outdoor programs.
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Volunteer Opportunities is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact. Join us to make a difference in your community!
